The Crane Center for Early Childhood Research and Policy invites poster proposals for the 2017 Symposium on Children on September 29th, 2017. The theme for this year’s symposium is Closing the Opportunity and Achievement Gap in Early Childhood Education. Submission deadline is Monday, September 4th.
The Symposium on Children serves to tackle a pressing issue related to children’s well-being by bringing together top researchers in the field to provide current findings and future directions for research. These presentations serve as a springboard for conversations among practitioners, policymakers to translate research into practice and policy. The symposium will feature three nationally recognized speakers (Oscar Barbarin, Angel Harris and Dana Suskind)
We invite submissions relevant to our mission. The Crane Center for Early Childhood Research and Policy is a multidisciplinary research center dedicated to conducting high-quality research that improves children’s learning and development at home, in school and in the community.
Sharing your poster provides an opportunity for presenting late-breaking results, on-going research projects, and speculative or innovative work in progress. Posters are intended to provide authors and attendees (researchers, practitioners, and policymakers) with the ability to connect with each other and to engage in discussions.
Authors must submit either a completed poster file in .ppt or .pdf format or a one-page proposal for evaluation. If submitting a one-page proposal, the proposal must include a description of research methods, aims, findings, and contributions to the field of early childhood education. The proposal should also clearly demonstrate how the presentation will be relevant to the CCEC mission as a multidisciplinary research center dedicated to conducting high-quality research that improves children’s learning and development at home, in school and in the community.
E-mail your submission to Elaine Joy at email@example.com by Monday, Sep. 4th. CCEC will take care of the logistics and cost of printing your poster and displaying it at the event.
